New record?

So this is the 2nd night this week I haven't gone out at all or had even a beer. This is honestly a personal best for the last 5-ish years of my life. At least as long as I have been at college. That's pretty sad, but who would have ever thought poker would be a healthy life choice?

One of the reasons I didn't go out was that it's Palmerfest tomorrow. Most of you probably don't know what that is, but there's a street at my school (Palmer, obv.) that basically gets blocked off and every house on the street has insane amounts of kegs. See below picture for our house's stash last year. There's probably about 40-ish houses and apartments on the street and it's an all-out riot. This year I think Playboy and Four alcohol/energy drink are sponsoring my friend's house, which I'll be at promptly at 9 am to begin the day-long black out.

Not too much going on poker-wise. All my LAPTs are step 5 tickets now, and it sucks because the games haven't been running much. I was tempted to play in one of the most -ev games I saw just because it's getting close, but the table had Ch0ppy, Jorj, DSavo, Azntracker and P0ker H0 (even though cmoney told me I should take every opportunity to play with him,) so I passed that one up. I did play one earlier however, we got down to 3 handed, me, H0 and some no-name. H0 barely had me covered and was playing like the complete nit he is, so I shoved J5ss from the SB on him and he insta called with 56o. Ship step 6, right? Once again, wrong. Flushed on the river, gg me. So I basically sat reg'ed for another step 5 all day and another game didn't run at all. This is really getting aggrivating because I don't want to have to relegate to playing against good people. If I don't win a seat I'll be SUPER pissed, because I know I'm better than 95% of the people playing those steps. I've also decided to stop going out as often and only play nights, because the games at night are even easier than the day games. That, or the day games hated me today, as I took some horrendous beats. Anyway, here's some stats from the last few days:

5-9-09

Games Played - 27
Total Buy-Ins - 729
Total Cashes - 787.50
Total Profit - 58.50

5-8-09

Games Played - 12
Total Buy-Ins - 324
Total Cashes - 270
Total Profit - -54

Hopefully only playing nights will start to improve these stats. If I can achieve numbers I'm 98% sure I can playing at night, and start cranking out more tables (I'm just starting to get a feel for all the regs,) I should be able to pull off just under $1k a week profit, which I wouldn't mind at all.

Seeing as how I'll be up drinking in 4 1/2 hours, I bid you all farewell.

Decent day

So yeah, I guess I decided to let people know I'm making a blog (and by people I mean P5's,) because hey, why not share my life with 8 million of my favorite strangers? I'll talk about a lot of random shit I'm sure, but it's also a good way to keep track of what I do poker-wise on a consistant basis. FWIW we did work out a whole staking arrangement for SNGs, so we'll see what I can do with that. I'm tired as hell right now, and didn't even go out tonight. I didn't think I was going to start playing til tomorrow but I got bored tonight so I just played a few tables to see how the evening/night games compared to the day games, which are super soft. I'll only be playing the $27 turbos, btw.

The very first game I played who got seated to my right? LadyMaverick herself, Vanessa "I'm SOOO fucking horrible at poker it's funny," Russo. Long story short, we got heads up, I had her covered huge at the start, I got it in good pre, she hit runner runner for a flush to nearly cripple me. I got back up like 7k to 5k effective, she open-shoved, I call with 55, she flops a J, I river a flush and just say "Hosed rly?" and her rail went nuts. Fucking homos. Anyway, stats from the few games today:

5-7-08

Games played: 7
Total buy-ins: 189
Total cashes: 360
Total profit: 171

As I update this more, I'll pull a jhub thing (jhub3000.livejournal.com) and start doing daily as well as weekly and monthly stats.

Turned all my excess cash into LAPT steps so I've got a 5, 2 4's and 2 3's so hopefully I'm blogging from Costa Rica in 2 weeks.

Pz.

Wow, this is a first

So I can't believe I relegated to making a blog. I feel a lot like Hank Moody from Californication and basically never though I could see myself doing this. I guess I see a lot of other people I know blogging about things (mostly poker related, but I'm not yet that balla,) but I figured it's something to do while I sit here between checking PocketFives.com and Facebook all day. I'm not sure how often I'll be updating this, as I'm not even sure I'm going to tell people I'm writing these things yet. I guess I'll make sure I have some level of consistency before I make such a commitment to the intimate world of blogging.

As of right now, there's only a few things going on in life besides getting hammered every night (and I took last night off and it was cinco de mayo zomg!!! It was OK though, got to rail Wretchy deep in the late 109r. GG 4th.) I'm basically coasting my way through the rest of school right now, and that's completely fine by me. I don't really know which is bigger news, the fact that I'm moving in Chagrin or the fact that within a month or two after that I'll be moving to Vegas. My uncle finally took a job out in California after being heavily recruited for about the last like 7 or 8 years, and my mom (and I guess me,) is going to be moving into his old house Memorial weekend so a few years from now, if he wants, he has the option of coming back. It's a sweet house with a shit ton of yard and woods so it'll be a nice change from downtown Chagrin.

Like I mentioned, I'm moving to Vegas sometime in August. Most likely closer to the end of the month, as that's when Mike and Clay's leases are up on their apartments. I've been talking to Mike about living with him for a few months now and he's been looking around at places out there, but then a week or two ago, Clay decided he was going to buy a house in Henderson, and I think we're going to just rent from him for the time being, which would be sweet. The houses he's shown me so far are pretty awesome, and the one he's pretty set on I love, so hopefully that works out.

I've been playing a hell of a lot more poker lately than I was a month ago. I guess I kind of got burnt out on it, and varience in SNGs is the biggest motivation-killer in the world. I could go up a few hundred in a day and drop it right back the next day. I think I let myself get into too much of a robotic rhythm after watching Icons videos over and over again. Monotiny on that level only works when you can 20-table for 8 hours a day, I think. Last week I cashed out what I owed my buddy Chris for paying for my plane ticket to Aruba last fall (room and booze were free, it's nice to know ballers.) I only left myself a few hundred online and didn't even think I was going to play again until school was over and hopefully grind through the summer so I didn't need a real job, but found out Chris was going to LAPT in Costa Rica at the end of May. I decided I'd try to step into it, supplementing steps with $16 and $27 turbos. Needless to say I've been on the heater of my life since I started this little venture a few days ago. I've for sure made more profit over the same time period playing volume, but I've only been playing 1-2 tables at a time (mostly due to br restrictions,) and it's been working out. As of now I've tripled the cash I started with (played 5 regular sngs today, first in all 5, I rule,) and accumulated a decent amount of step tickets, 3-5. I managed to step into 6 last night, and wanted to play it SO bad, but Ch0ppy and DSavo were both registered, and that's just WAYYYY -ev, even though it pays 4 seats.

I played it today, and holy shit do I wish I saved my HH's. 5 players left, I'm in the BB with 2nd short stack. SS is the sb, who I only have covered by maybe ~300 chips. Folds to him in the sb, he shoves, I'm holding KK, snap it off, he shows Q8s. Weeeeee, going to Costa Rica!!!!!! right? Absolutely not. Flop Q8x, turn x, river x to cripple me, and I couldn't even cover a BB, shoved whatever, lost whatever, what the fuck ever. I'm pretty confident I can make my way into it with the remaining tickets I have, and if not, at least play some more steps or satty into the $500 qualifier this Sunday.

The only other poker thing going on is I might possibly get a backer for my SNGs. Weird, right? But yeah, I have no sustainable bankroll as I haven't had a real job in years, and I refuse to attempt to grind out anything less than $13 sngs. It's honestly a crap-shoot from the start. Not even kidding, they're harder to beat than $60's cause no one has any clue what they're doing. So hopefully that works out and I can make myself and my backer some loot. I'm still a little confused on how the situation would work out, seeing as how being backed for SNGs is rare, if not unheard of (I've never heard of it.) But whatever, he's a good friend of mine, so we'll figure it out.

I guess that's it for now. Cavs are playing right now (and playing like shit, might I add,) so I'm going to go get hammered and watch them.

Pz kids, not sure if anyone will ever even see this, but it just kept me entertained.

Edit: Oh, btw, I stole your layout Kice. My bad. It's the only one that doesn't look like shit, imo.
